Student Health Advisory Committee

The Student Health Advisory Committee (SHAC) represents the needs and ideas of university students. Members include undergraduate, graduate and professional students who speak for student groups like the Undergraduate Student Government, Professional Student Government and Council of Graduate Students.

About SHAC

SHAC members advise Boynton on how to improve the health of the university community. One of its most important roles is to help develop the Student Services Fee (SSF) requests. SHAC members approve the final request and participate in fee hearings.

Student organizations and centers have worked with SHAC to voice their concerns and take action to improve campus health. Over the past few years, these actions have included: prioritizing and acquiring SSF dollars for mental health initiatives, expanding mental health services on both West and East Bank, establishing a drug disposal station in Boynton Pharmacy, and implementing the Smoke- and Tobacco-Free Campus Policy.
