Colleen McDonald, MA, joined Boynton Health as the new Assistant Vice Provost, Director of Health Services, and Chief Health Officer in 2022. She is the second permanent female director since Ruth Boynton, the University's Health Services founding leader.

Before this position, Colleen served as the Chief Executive Officer of a community health center for seven years in South Minneapolis. She brings leadership expertise in community-based primary care and mental health care with a specific focus on serving diverse community members. 

Colleen has a master's degree in education policy and administration from the University of Minnesota. Her vision is to provide services that elevate students' health and well-being so they can reach their educational and life goals, and she was a consumer of Boynton services as a graduate assistant. She is the mother of three bi-racial children and is personally and professionally committed to creating an equitable society.
