Dr. Andrew T. Moe is a licensed psychologist, licensed professional clinical counselor, and licensed alcohol and drug counselor. He earned his doctoral degree in counseling psychology from the University of St. Thomas and holds a master's degree in Integrated Behavioral Health from the University of Minnesota.
With advanced training in substance use disorders, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), anxiety, depression, and trauma, Dr. Moe specializes in working with students facing these challenges. His therapeutic approach involves aiding students in identifying patterns in the problems they have encountered throughout their lives and developing effective strategies to address these concerns. This process often includes exploring how childhood and past events influence current issues, emphasizing the ways in which "the past is present" in one's life.
Drawing heavily from psychodynamic theory, attachment theory, and developmental theories, Dr. Moe provides individual therapy aimed at fostering mental health and well-being. He also incorporates Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy with some students to effectively address trauma and facilitate healing. In addition to therapy, he offers psychological assessments for ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorders. In his assessment practice, he utilizes the Therapeutic Assessment (TA) modality developed by Dr. Stephen E. Finn and colleagues. TA is a brief intervention that uses psychological assessment to help people change their lives. Clinicians practicing TA work collaboratively with clients to develop a more accurate, compassionate, clear, and useful narrative about themselves and the world. Decades of research demonstrate that TA helps clients feel better and more capable of taking their next steps in life.
Committed to fostering a supportive and collaborative environment, Dr. Moe empowers students to navigate their challenges and achieve personal growth. His integrative approach combines evidence-based therapies with personalized care. Dr. Moe has a non-judgmental, empathetic, and student-centered approach and is dedicated to helping his students achieve their full potential and live fulfilling lives.
