General Sexual Health Info

Chat About It: Comprehensive and simple-to-use overview of many sexual health topics created by the Chicago Department of Public Health.

Go ask Alice: Question and answer formatted web page created by a team of medical and public health professionals at Columbia University. This resource has many different questions and topics - good starting point for students just starting to look into sexual health information.

Planned Parenthood: Includes lots of information on birth control and STIs, as well as LGBTQIA-specific sexual health topics.

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention: Very dense information, good for students who want more in-depth information and explanations (interested in biology, epidemiology of sexual health).

Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs)

American Sexual Health Association: An overview of STIs that breaks down each STI and gives basic facts. 

Minnesota Department of Health: Very dense information, good if you want more in-depth information and explanations of STIs or are interested in biology, epidemiology of sexual health. 

Contraception

Bedsider: Friendly interface for looking at many different contraceptive methods and comparing them to one another. A great resource if you are just starting to explore contraceptive methods.

Planned Parenthood: Great for exploring different options. Includes a quiz to see which birth control might be best depending on lifestyle. Also uses majority gender-neutral language if you prefer that.

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention: Very dense information, good if you want more in-depth information and explanations about the different methods (interested in biology, epidemiology of sexual health) - includes charts and helpful graphics.

Emergency Contraception Options: EContra One-Step (generic Plan B) is available as an over-the-counter medication or with a prescription. When billed to your health insurance, the cost may be lower or completely covered. Ask a pharmacist for details. 

Emergency contraception is also available in a Coffman Student Union vending machine.

LGBTQIA Specific Sexual Health Resources

Scarleteen: Although more youth-directed, the site is a good starting point that includes LGBTQIA specific concerns and uses inclusive language.
