Medication Therapy Management (MTM)

If you are an eligible employee on a University health plan, or a student on the Student Health Benefit Plan, or Graduate Assistant Health Plan, you can meet privately with a Boynton pharmacist to optimize your medication regimen and problem-solve any issues.  To be eligible to participate, you must be taking at least four prescription medications, have a diabetes diagnosis, or be referred by your provider. 

The program is fully covered for those meeting eligibility criteria. Employees on the UPlan can earn 500 Wellbeing Points per MTM appointment (a maximum of 1000 points per year).

Why choose Boynton Pharmacy?

  • We are the preferred pharmacy for the Student Health Benefit Plan and the only pharmacy where a 90-day supply of medication is covered. At Boynton Pharmacy, you can fill three months of medication for only two copays.
  • Our pharmacy staff understands the Graduate Assistants and UPlan formularies and can help you navigate your benefits.
  • If your prescription is not covered or has a high copay, our staff will work with you and your provider to find a more affordable option when possible.

How do I transfer a prescription?

To transfer your prescriptions to Boynton Pharmacy, fill out our transfer form.

To transfer your prescription back to your hometown pharmacy over break, contact the pharmacy where you’d like to fill your prescription, and they will call us to initiate the transfer. They will need our phone number (612-624-7655).

Can my prescription be mailed to me?

Depending on your insurance, we may be able to mail your prescription to you within Minnesota and Wisconsin. Call ahead to arrange. A mailing fee ($5-$8) will apply to cover shipping and handling.

How can I pay for my prescriptions and over-the-counter items?

  • We accept Gopher GOLD, credit cards, and debit cards.
  • Most FSA/HSA cards will work here, but be sure to keep your receipt!
  • Current students can charge their pharmacy orders to their student account.

How do I dispose of unused medications?

Help protect our water and keep drugs off the street by disposing of your unused or expired medications at Boynton Pharmacy. No questions asked. Disposal box located in Boynton Health's Pharmacy, East Bank Clinic (near main entrance). Please note: liquids, aerosols and sharps are not permitted. For household medications only. Not for business use.
