Prescription Medicines and OTC Drugs

Boynton’s Pharmacy fills prescriptions at a convenient location. The pharmacy also offers over-the-counter medicines, health and medical supplies, personal care items, and travel accessories.

Prescription Refills

Prescription refills and transfers may be ordered any time by calling 612-624-7655. Please allow at least 24 hours from the time the refill is requested to the time of pickup.

Prescription Transfers

To transfer your prescription to Boynton, call 612-624-7655 with your name, birth date, student ID (if applicable), prescription number and the name and phone number of the pharmacy from which you are transferring the prescription.  Please allow at least 24 hours for transfers.

University of Minnesota Internal Department Orders

University of Minnesota departments can order medications from Boynton Pharmacy. Place a department order.

Medication Therapy Management

If you are a UPlan member, you can meet privately with a pharmacist to assess your prescriptions, over-the-counter products, vitamins and dietary supplements for safety, effectiveness and appropriateness.

The pharmacist can help you optimize your medication regimen and problem solve medication issues.

UPlan members who qualify to participate can earn 150 Wellbeing Program points for completing three visits.

What Do I Need to Transfer a Prescription


  • Prescription or prescription number for refills
  • Prescription insurance card
  • U Card or other current form of photo ID
  • Some form of payment for any merchandise or co-payment for medication health plan
What Payment Methods Are Accepted

The Student Services Fee does not cover medications. Boynton Pharmacy accepts most credit cards, cash, personal checks and charges to your student account as payment. The pharmacy will also bill most insurance plans.

Patients should check with their individual health plans for coverage details.
