Boynton Health's Mental Health Internship and Practicum Programs are designed to provide aspiring mental health professionals with a hands-on, immersive experience.
Master's Degree Concentration Level Internship
Boynton Health's Master's Degree Concentration Level Internship program provides a concentration level placement for students in their second year or advanced placement of UMN's Master’s of Social Work and Master’s of Counselor Education programs. Interns will provide individual therapy, group therapy, and mental health screenings to students at the University of Minnesota.
Psychology Practicum
Boynton Health's Psychology Practicum Program consists of career, academic, and personal counseling to students at the University of Minnesota. Application to the psychology practicum training program requires current enrollment in a doctoral program of psychology.
Advanced Psychology Practicum
Boynton Health's Advanced Psychology Practicum Program consists of career, academic, and personal counseling to students at the University of Minnesota. Application to the advanced psychology practicum training program is reserved for doctoral students who have completed at least one prior mental health counseling practicum during master's or doctoral-level training and current enrollment in a doctoral program of psychology.
APA-Accredited Health Service Psychology Internship
Boynton’s Mental and Counseling Health Service Psychology Internship Program is for doctoral students enrolled in an APA-accredited counseling or clinical psychology program.
The internship has three broad goals:
- A developmental sequence of training in entry-level counseling skills, emphasizing providing services in a university setting.
- Development of multicultural awareness and skills.
- Socialization into professional psychology.
