Mental Health Advocates

Boynton’s Mental Health Advocates (MHAs) are staff and faculty volunteers who complete 14 hours of training and serve as resources to their colleagues. MHAs take active steps each month to make positive changes impacting student mental health within their sphere of influence. MHAs learn new skills to apply to their current University of Minnesota position, and are a part of a community working to implement public health strategies to promote student mental health.

Program Overview

The MHA program offers professional development training through a combination of asynchronous Canvas modules and Zoom workshops. All members of the MHA program complete a microproject, receive a monthly newsletter, and have access to monthly case consultation spaces.
