I began my counseling career in Wisconsin, moved to Minnesota in 2009, and started at Boynton Health Mental Health Center in 2017. I am an avid sports fan, who you can frequently find cheering for the Minnesota Lynx, UMN sports, and the Green Bay Packers depending upon the season. I enjoy being outdoors, hiking, playing sports, and sharing laughter with friends. My counseling approach, education, advocacy, and research focus specifically on the importance of individualized approaches for working within the LGBTQIA+ community alongside our other diverse and intersecting identities; with an emphasis on mental health, chemical dependency, and crisis support. I welcome each student into therapy using an open, validating and collaborative approach, where you explore additional or new ways to understand your life experiences, further define personal identity, and develop greater support to manage change. We do this work by focusing on the ways thoughts impact our emotions and actions.
