I've been providing mental health care at the U since 1998, and have enjoyed working with students from a variety of cultures, backgrounds and experiences during that time. I emphasize building a strong foundation of trust and creating safety to allow for open communication and honest self-discovery. Like most clinicians I use multiple lenses and frames of reference to help identify specific and concrete issues and concerns that can be addressed in a shorter-term/goal-directed model. I seek to build on my clients' natural strengths and resilience to create a sense of hope that things can get better, and provide support for trying different behaviors that can make lasting and meaningful improvements.
