How to see a counselor for urgent or crisis needs?

For counseling services with an urgent or crisis need, please call our front desk at 612-624-1444 or come into Boynton Health (4th Floor Mental Health Clinic). 

  • Staff will provide next steps which will include completing intake or basic information forms.

Reasons for seeing a counselor for urgent or crisis needs can include, but are not limited to:

  • If you are not feeling safe.
  • If someone close to you has recently died. 
  • If you have been recently assaulted. 

Availability is on a first come first serve basis. Students that are at risk of harming themselves or others, and those with acute psychiatric concerns will be prioritized. This could mean some wait time before being seen.
