Reiko Hirai, PhD, LP

she/her/hers

Reiko Hirai is a former international student at the University and has worked in different cities/counties but made Minnesota home. She splits her time between providing regular individual therapy and Solution Focused Therapy (SoFT). In her SoFT role, she enjoys offering fast-paced short-term SoFT sessions to address immediate stressors. Reiko values a collaborative process of creating action-generating goals that allow changes to happen. Looking within yourself and sitting with your vulnerability is complex, and making an emotionally safe therapeutic space is very important to Reiko. Her therapeutic passion is empowering, affirming, and fostering self-acceptance to help you create changes. She has worked in various settings that served college/graduate students, refugees, third-culture teens, ex-pats, and interculturally married couples. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, tending her native prairie garden, watching wildlife, traveling, biking, and making art.
