The LGBTQIA+ Healthy Norms Promotion Grant Program provides grants of up to $2,000 to student groups in order to prevent sexual assault and other forms of sexual violence within LGBTQIA+ student communities on campus.
The goal of the LGBTQIA+ Healthy Norms Promotion Grant Program is to prevent sexual violence among LGBTQIA+ students by:
- Supporting University of Minnesota student groups to develop and implement a project that uplifts positive behaviors, attitudes, and knowledge related to sexual violence prevention within LGBTQIA+ student communities; and
- Engaging students to promote positive norms among their peers related to healthy relationships, affirmative consent practices, inclusive spaces, or respective communication.
Two grantees have been selected for the 2022-2023 school year! Grantees will identify a positive social norm related to sexual violence prevention within their peer group and promote it through either 1) a small group program, such as a workshop, discussion series, or event; or 2) a social norms marketing campaign. Program staff will support them in developing, implementing, and evaluating their project.
The LGBTQIA+ Healthy Norms Promotion Grant Program typically accepts applications from student groups in the Fall semester. For details about the application process, visit https://z.umn.edu/LGBTQIAHealthyNormsGrant. Check back in early September 2023 for more information.
