Ky Win Nguyen

Ky is a Mental Health Clinic intern pursuing a Master of Counselor Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Ky grew up in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and was an international student in the United States for nine years. She graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Science in Developmental Psychology, with an interest in protective factors in behavioral psychology and cognitive psychology in children, adolescents, and young adults. Post-graduation, she has been a research assistant at Autism Clinical Lab and a researcher at Meta Inc. Ky understands the transition to higher education in a different country and the many conflicting emotions accompanying such a transition that affect students personally and academically. Her goal is to create a welcoming and safe environment for all students to share their experiences and struggles and overcome challenges by developing effective coping methods. She believes the therapeutic relationship is a collaborative process that helps students succeed personally and professionally. In her free time, Ky enjoys traveling, cooking, baking, playing musical instruments, skiing, singing, and spending time with friends and family.
