Chris Pensinger, MD, MHI

he/him/his

Dr. Pensinger grew up in South Minneapolis and practiced in rural Minnesota for 20 years before becoming a physician leader in transitioning clinics and hospitals away from paper medical charts to integrated electronic health records. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he took on a renewed interest in public health and family medicine. He subsequently relocated to Saint Paul and practiced in Eagan, Minnesota, before his leadership role at Boynton Health.

Dr. Pensinger's passion is service and the patient experience. Rather than being prescriptive to patients on their care plans, he prefers a clinician-patient partnership approach by offering information and treatment options based on the most current evidence and research. Dr. Pensinger understands that trust and good communication are critical to the ongoing success of the clinician-patient relationship.

His clinical interests include infectious diseases, including COVID-19, hypertension, preventative medicine, and LGBTQ population health. Outside the clinic, Dr. Pensinger enjoys home restoration projects, exploring the numerous parks and historical sites in the Twin Cities, and spending time with his adult children.
