The Boynton Health X-ray Department is staffed by Radiologic Technologists licensed through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. They are also aware of and adhere to compliance regulations and standards through the Minnesota Department of Health and the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care. The Radiologic Technologists are available to perform routine X-rays, electrocardiograms (EKG), and Lung Function Testing (Spirometry) examinations.
X-rays evaluate bone fractures, abnormalities, and diseases in the body. With an order from a clinician, x-ray examinations are performed utilizing a fully digital x-ray system. The x-ray images are sent electronically for interpretation by a contractual board-certified radiologist group at a reduced rate. The interpretation fees are included in the cost of the x-ray examination billed by the clinic, so there are no unexpected charges.
The Radiology Technologists also assist the healthcare providers in scheduling patients for diagnostic imaging examination in the community, such as MRIs, CTs, Mammograms, Ultrasounds, etc.
Electrocardiograms detect heart problems and monitor the heart's health. The Radiologic Technologists perform these tests with an order from a clinician. The EKG interpretation is provided by three board-certified physicians within the clinic at a reduced rate. The interpretation fees are included in the cost of the EKG billed by the clinic, so there are no unexpected charges.
Lung Function Testing
Spirometry examinations measure the function of the lungs, assess breathing patterns, and help identify conditions such as asthma, pulmonary fibrosis, cystic fibrosis, and COPD. These studies are scheduled and performed with an order from a clinician by the Radiology Technologists. The Spirometry results are placed in the patient's clinical record for interpretation by the ordering clinician.
Important message: Due to the coronavirus pandemic, Spirometry testing is temporarily on hold unless deemed medically essential by the ordering clinician.
